Candles for an even dozen

MURIEL Winter, Shiela Lightfoot, Mary Ingley, John Conway, Margaret Nash, Betty Witt, Barbara Bartrop, Phyllis Goldsack, Edith Robertson, June Ross, Bill Slingo, Maureen Young of the Pakenham Seniors Club all celebrated their birthdays.
Big congratulations to Nan and Geoff on their engagement and the centre welcomed back Jean Kirk who was visiting from the UK.
Members reported ill were Josephine Charibe, Maria Broekstra, Carmel Malpera and Marrianne Lactis.
Don Shaw and Lies Algra are currently in hospital and the centre wishes them a speedy recovery.
Upcoming features for the seniors include the movies, All the Elephants 18 May and Jane Eyre in October; a mystery tour 22 June; and Christmas in July on 13 July at Sandown. Payment for the Sandown function is $25 and includes coach travel and a meal.
There will be no Tai Chi, line dancing or exercise on 21 April.
New members include Elizabeth and Winston Crowther and Brian Taylor.
Little Tatts winners were Miriam Trotter, Daphne Wright, Gywn Fisher, Jean Anderson, and Laurie Fitton.
The door prize was won by Aileen Sweet and Betty Cummins, and June Murphy took out the raffle.
There were 152 members present.
