SHANE Male and John Blair have shown how best to win a 4BBB event, by scoring 51 stableford points at Garfield on Saturday.
The pair were teamed together some time ago by the event starter and have played in quite a few better ball events since with a great deal of success. Runners-up were George Gray and Peter Lacey with 50 points.
Nearest the pins were won by Russell Keay (fourth), Ray Jones (eighth), Malcolm Hirt (ninth), Geoff Turner (11th), Craig Hunter (14th) and Russell Keay (16th). The second shot on the fifth was won by Malcolm Hirt and the seventh by Mark Kelly.
Down the lines were Peter Frederenko/Pieter Vanderhorst 50, Graham Thorp/David Thorp 50, Peter Johnson/Clinton Smith 49, George Vitiritti/Peter Scott 48 and Darren Booth/Craig Cousland 48.
Shane Male took out the Bendigo Bank eagles nest, twice having eagles on both the second and the sixth holes.
The women’s winner was Debra Winter (32) with 36 points and the weekly raffle went to Nigel Goldsworthy.
The Thursday event was won by R. Edwards (17) with 42 points and the runner-up was Norm Robbins (36) with 39 points, followed by Peter Johnson (18) with 38 points.
The nearest the pins went to Mick Housin (fourth), Ian Archer (eighth and ninth), R. Edwards (11th), W. Pyle (14th) and Peter Lacey (16th).
The monthly medal is on this weekend.
