School savings mean music to their ears

BEACONSFIELD Primary School has been awarded a cheque of $8000 as part of the Commonwealth Bank’s School Banking Fund Kickstart program.
The school enco-urages financial awareness and saving money for the future, with most students involved in student banking.
The prize was given to the school for their award-winning poem ‘Music Garden’ detailing how the money could create an outdoor place for them to hang out and play music.
Principal Gary Methven said the money would go towards purchasing instruments, seating and sound systems to complete their school music garden.
“We are very grateful to the Commonwealth Bank. The children will now have access to instruments, teachers and opportunities to learn and play together,” he said.
