A PERMIT to build six shops in Kooweerup has been given the green light by Cardinia councillors at Monday night’s council meeting.
Councillor Stuart Halligan said the proposed location for the shops, on the corner of Station Street and Rossiter Road had been an unsightly area for many years and the new development would bring life to the town.
“Some of the shops in the main part of town are moving to another area closer to the new Woolworths. This proposal will bring something back to this end of town,” Cr Halligan said.
“There are a lot of exciting things happening.”
