Ladies in a big win on wet day

GLENDA Gorton (34) and her guest Julie Bernau (37) “cleaned up” in a 4BBB stableford on ladies day at the Berwick Montuna Golf Club.
Their score of 48 was all the more impressive considering the wet conditions. The runners-up were Carol Ronalds (25) and Gail Richards (25) with 38 points.
A stableford competition was played on 22 May. It was the first round of the Fay Blair Memorial Trophy and the winner was Melinda Crawford (18) with 38 points. Patricia Clydesdale (34) was second with 36 points.
The 4BBB par competition on 21 May was won by Maureen Dean (15) and Maxine Trickey (22) with a +6. Robyn Dodge (39) and Joyce Hammond (41) were second with +4.
Maureen Dean (15) won the stroke competition on 18 May with a score of 76 nett – and hence she won the third monthly medal, the second round of the Silver Spoon, the International Bowl and the Mona McLeod Brooch. Runner up was Joyce Hammond (40) with a 77 nett.
Hannie Leferink (45) won the stableford competition on 8 May. She scored 36 points. On 7 May the stroke competition was won by Merilyn Heritage (22) on a countback from Christine Hogan (25). They had scores of 68 nett.
The Pink Lady Charity Day on 4 May saw Glenda Gorton (33) as the overall winner of the stableford competition. She was also the B Grade winner with 37 points, while the A Grade winner was Maxine Trickey (23).
The stableford competition on 1 May was won by Jan Brown (29) on a countback from Carol Ann Simpson. They scored 36 points.
