A TROUT scored Dennis Jacobs the winning weight at the most recent fishing day for the Pakenham Angling Club – while a redfin won second prize for Ray Hester. Though very, very cold, Hyland Lake at Churchill was calm – with the reflections from the water making the scenery magnificent. Some of the early risers lit a fire to keep warm. Such was to no avail, for come lunchtime a heavy downpour sent the anglers scurrying. As such, few fish were landed, but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the juniors. The next meeting of the club is at 7.30pm next Wednesday at the Pakenham Senior Citizens’ rooms. A friendly welcome awaits any interested anglers. Contact Jason on 5997 1989 for further information.
