Crew does Pakenham proud

By Kog Ravindran
PAKENHAM was represented by 22 youngsters at this year’s State Youth Games, an annual event run by the Churches of Christ.
The event celebrated its 21st birthday and was attended by almost 3000 high school students.
Based in Lardner Park, the students took part in a range of activities in Warragul, Drouin and Trafalgar.
‘The Pakky Crew’ as they were known, participated in sports that included dodge ball, ultimate frisbee and thunder hockey.
One team member was awarded a nomination for the Good Sportsmanship Award for volunteering to play on an opponent’s team because they were struggling to fill a side.
The crew was placed 38th out of the 76 groups and will be competing in next year’s competition.
