Anglers on a winner

IT WAS a day of the Blackwoods at the recent presentation day and annual general meeting of the Pakenham Angling Club.
Stan Blackwood was “on the money”, winning the angler of the year award and also being elected the club treasurer.
Jason Blackwood was re-elected president, Clive Blackwood won the Bill Blackwood Shield (bream) and presented the trophy named after him to Carole Clark (bream, women), who was also the female angler of the year, and Josh Blackwood took out the Eddy Peters trophy (snapper).
Neville Clark was the runner-up in the male angler of the year and Judy Studd finished in the same position in the female title.
The junior angler of the year was Kaylee Bell, with Chloe and Darcey Rees being the equal runners-up. Tracey Rees was elected the new secretary.
But it was Dennis Jacobs who left with the most individual honours, snaring the Laurie Jeremiah Trophy (trout), the Rocky Milner trophy (whiting) and the P. J. Marine trophy (gummy shark).
The next meeting of the club will be on Wednesday 17 August at the Pakenham Senior Citizens Club.
