Bell clinches award

WHAT better way to end the golfing season than with a round of golf.
Before heading to the “19th hole”, the Garfield men’s pennant teams enjoyed one last round with friends and family before retiring for a feed and presentations.
After some brief comments from the captains, the Division Two player of the season was awarded to Cameron Bell for his superb season, while Glen Laity was mentioned as a valued player.
Fittingly, Derek Arnolda, known as “the gun” took out the top gun award and Peter Fedorenko received an award for his contribution in Division Three.
According to Leesa Matthews, Division Three “kicked butt” this year and will put pressure on the men in Division Two to lift their game before next season rolls around.
On Tuesday, round one Rose Bowl, Debbie Huyskens 94-24-70 won the medal, while Meredith Bowers was leading the first round of the Rose Bowl. Meredith played a personal best breaking ninety 89-24-65 to be leading this event.
