THE Pakenham Football Club is set to receive a massive boost with champion defender Jared Goldsack set to make a comeback.
The former Lions captain and Victorian Country Football League representative caused a stir last year when he left Toomuc Reserve before Pakenham’s finals campaign but is tipped to play this week.
“He will play this weekend in some grade,” Pakenham coach Michael Holland said.
“He’s obviously going to need a bit of fitness and match practice, but we all know his class. Hopefully he can bring another dimension to our side.”
Goldsack moved to Doha near Dubai with his partner, Lions netballer Michelle Webster, last year and Goldsack’s presence may be the missing piece for the finals-bound Pakenham.
The Lions have several key players pushing for a seniors call-up, with excitement machine David Fevaleaki, ex-ROC ruckman Dane Roy (on the mend from a foot injury) and former Frankston VFL utility Stephen Morey on the cusp of returning to the big time.
