PETER Porter won the monthly medal and B Grade with a most impressive nett score of 63 at the Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
Competition was played on a drying course with extra run – which produced good scores.
Mark Hatton took out A Grade with 66 nett and Bob Collins won C Grade with a score of 65 nett. The best gross score went to Rob Bumbak with a 77.
Nearest-the-pin on the second and fifth holes went to Michael Barth. Dave Nagel took out the eighth hole, Alex Green the 14th and Michael Henderson the 16th.
The second shot on the third hole went to T. Male, the sixth and 17th holes to N. Sleep and D. Male won the 11th hole.
The longest drive winners were Dan Cameron (A Grade), J. Derix (B Grade) and G. Wilkinson (C Grade). Balls down the line to a 72 nett.
Saturday is stableford day, including the annual captains versus presidents event.

A small field played on Monday, with Dan Pantorno scoring 38 points to win from Peter Diss on 37 points.

The Wednesday competition winner – on a countback – was Ross Stewart with 41 points, ahead of Mal Davey. The supacomp winner was Peter Diss, also with 41 points, with nearest-the-pin on the second hole going to Barrie Seldon. Balls down the line went to 37 points.

Sunday’s competition saw young gun Sean Henderson win with 40 points, from Mark Delaney with 39 points. Balls down the line to 37 points.

Meanwhile, members and visitors are welcome to the club for Wednesday night teas, between 5.30pm and 8pm.
The first Wednesday night of the month is a roast carvery and the third Wednesday is a pasta evening (three other menu options are available).
A-la-carte menus are on other Wednesdays.
A three person ambrose will be held on AFL grand final day, 1 October. It’s a 7.15am assembly for an 8am shotgun start to be played in sixes.
Presentations will be at 2pm – and then it’s the footy on the tellie. All this for $35 or $100 for a team of three.
There will be major prizes for the first three finishers, four drink cards, a barbecue on the first and 14th hole, long drives, nearest to the pins and finger food during the footy. Ring 5941 4083 for bookings.
