RAIL services were suspended on the Pakenham line last Wednesday afternoon after a person was struck and killed by a train at the level crossing on Clyde Road, Berwick.
All Pakenham line services were suspended for the rest of the afternoon, with extra buses added for passengers affected by the cancellations.
It is believe the incident occurred around 12.30pm and emergency services were called to the scene at 12.40pm.
A Metro spokesperson said extra bus services were added at all Pakenham line stations for stranded passengers.
