CHOCOLATES to boiled lollies might be a polite way of describing Pakenham golfer Jon Game’s fall from grace on the eighth hole at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
After achieving the dream of every golfer – a hole-in-one at the same hole the previous week – Game, 42, walked off the eighth green this week with his tail well and truly tucked between his legs.
After blocking his tee shot out of bounds, Game hacked his way around the 150m par 3 and evidence of this was when it came time to get the pencil out and write down his score … nine. As he walked off the 18th hole, Game was heard to say: “It’s not that bad, I average five for that hole over the last two weeks now.”
Welcome back to earth, Jon.
As for Bret Mottrom, 35, who also scored a hole-in-one at the Pakenham course last Saturday (on the 14th), he followed up with a bogey, a four, on the same hole on Saturday.
Game and Mottrom, who live two doors apart in Pakenham, will be back at it again this weekend.
