THE first Thursday of the month is monthly medal day for the Pakenham Ladies Golf Club and this month produced a course in magnificent condition and weather to match.
The day’s winner was Dini Krytenberg who fired a 68 nett to take home the medal. Division two winner was Sue King who battled hard for a nett 75.
The big hitters this week were Marg Andrews and Muriel Mills who both won longest drives while Jan Creagh and Ann Bell showed accuracy off the tee to take home the NTPs. Deadeye Marg Jackson won the putting competition with 25 putts.
The club’s Shirley Roberts represented the West Gippsland Country team in Melbourne last week. Coming into the final round of matchplay the cup was up for grabs but the women fell just short, going down 4-3 in a tense battle.
Coming events are on 22 September when the 27-hole foursomes championships are held, incorporating the St Andrews trophy to be played over 18 holes, and 29 September is Pink day to raise funds for breast cancer.
This Thursday will be a four ball event and it is personal guest day.
