THE Annual General Meeting will take place this Thursday, 15 September, at 7pm.
Voting on the constitutional changes will take place.
Saturday 10 September
The Saturday par competition was played in poor conditions, however a great field of 123 players braved the elements.
Clear winner on the day was Max Craig who treated his luxurious handicap of 22 with contempt to win C-Grade and the overall prize with a great score of +9.
Brett Harrop saluted in A-Grade with +3 and Robert Naismith won B-Grade with +5.
Nearest the pins were on the 2nd Wayne Lamers, 5th Dan Cameron, 8th David Rio, 14th Dan Cameron and on the 16th Paul Mannens.
Longest drive winners were A-Grade David Nagel, B-Grade Peter Porter and C-Grade Tommy Cassidy.
Closest second shots went to David Green on the 3rd and Luke March on the 6th. Balls down the line to +1 on a count back.
Next week’s event will be Stableford and with 24 degrees predicted, a big field is expected.
Monday 5 September
The Monday competition saw huge scores rolled in and little Eric Butcher secured victory with 48pts.
Dry fairways and quick greens were ideal for Butcher who bettered his handicap by a whopping 12 shots.
Unlucky runner-up was Peter Mackie with 45pts and balls down the line went to 39pts on a count back, harsh days indeed for those who had 38pts.
The nearest the pins were 2nd hole Brian Doherty, 8th Peter Diss and the 14th hole went to Michael Foote.
Wednesday 7 September
More massive scores and the winner was Rex Jobling with 46pts, second place went to Rod Cameron with 43pts and scoring was great on a very firm golf course.
The Super comp winner was also Rod Cameron, with Jobling taking out the super comp NTP.
The Nearest the pins went Rod Cameron, Anthony Wynen,Tony Vallance and Terry Tisdale who went within inches of a hole in one on the 16th. Balls down the line going to 38pts on a count back.
Sunday 11 September
Sunday competition saw a bakers dozen field of 13 players compete. David Rio taking out day with 35pts from Sean Henderson 34pts and Simon Fay 33pts.
Wednesday Night Teas
Don’t forget every Wednesday night, between 5.30pm and 8.00pm our chef Ben, cooks up a storm. Visitors are welcome.
First Wednesday night of each month is a roast carvery and the third Wednesday a pasta night, but there other meals available if you don’t like pasta.
All other Wednesdays host an ‘a la carte’ menu. Great value and great food.
2011 AFL Grand Final Day
Saturday 1 October will host a three person ambrose event.
It is a 7.15am assembly for an 8am shot gun start to be played in sixes.
Presentation will be held at 2pm with the Grand Final to follow, a fee of $35 for single or $100 for a team of three.
The fee will include major prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, also a four drink card, barbecues on the 1st and 14th, long drives, nearest the pins and finger food during the footy.
