NARRE Warren claimed its third successive colts premiership with a comprehensive 39-point win over Mornington at RF Miles Reserve, Seaford, on Friday night.
Young Magpies forward Matthew Young dominated proceedings with seven goals in a best afield performance.
Young booted three goals within six minutes to hand Narre Warren an 11-point quarter-time lead.
Mornington fought back in the second term, with three quick goals, but Narre settled with goals to Young and Jayke Hopkins, the leading goalkicker in the competition.
The Narre Warren machine was in full gear during the third term, with five goals to nil.
The young Magpies run, hardness at the ball and ability to take contested marks in their forward half was the primary factor in the win.
Mornington kicked the final three goals to lower its final losing margin.
Along with Young, the Magpies were led by defenders Jesse Lamont and Tory Drew, midfielder Jake Cuthbert, captain Jacob O’Brien on the half-back flank and the silky Tom Grguric in a complete team performance.
