PAKENHAM golfer, Pat Ellerton, achieved a rare feat on Saturday by making eagle on the par four, 11th hole. Ellerton had to make room in his golf bag for a dozen new balls, the reward for his efforts.
The course is back to its best and a large field assembled for a Stableford event last Saturday.
B Grade and overall winner was Noel Boyd with 44 points on a countback from C Grade winner Gary Burgess. Trevor Male won A Grade with 39 points.
Other great scores came in from Rob McCoubrie 42, Patrick Farrell 40 and 38 from Alan Tagell, Sean Henderson, Robert Moffitt, Tom McDermott, Clive Smith and George Coffey.
Nearest the pins: George Coffey (second), Jon Game (fifth), Sean Henderson (eighth), Graeme Steel (14th and pro pin) and Murray O’Dwyer (16th). Closest second shot on the sixth went to Brett Harrop.

There certainly was a buzz in the air for the women at Pakenham Golf Club on Thursday, with 32 players taking to the course for a par event.
Division one went to Shirley Roberts with a score of +4. Marg Andrews, from division two had the best score of the day with +7 and Sue Menzel, fresh off some golf lessons, won division three with +5.
Nearest the pins went to Leanne Barker and Toni Owen.
This Thursday is the 27-hole and 18-hole foursomes events. Hitting off at 8.30am.

Twilight competition begins on Wednesday 5 October, hit-off 3pm to 6pm. The club has Wednesday night meals available from 5.30pm to 8pm at a reasonable cost. Visitors are welcome.

Saturday 1 October, grand final day, will see a Three-Person Ambrose format with a 7.15am assembly for an 8am shot gun start to be played in sixes.
