Race to beat drink driving

A NEW bus shuttle service is being provided by the Pakenham Racing Club to provide easy transportation to and from the Evergreen Turf Guineas Day. The free shuttle service, which will pick up local residents from various locations throughout Pakenham, is to run both prior to and after the race.
Club sales and events manager, Anthony Millican described the new shuttle service as a convenient and safe way for racegoers to go to the races.
“Our goal is not only to make it easier for people to get to and from the races, but to ensure there is a viable alternative to discourage people from getting behind the wheel after a few drinks,” Anthony said.
The service would make it easier for local patrons to “enjoy a day out at the races and enjoy a drink responsibly.”
