CARDINIA councillors looked especially dapper on Monday night with most donning specially made bowties at councillor George Blenkhorn’s last meeting as mayor.
The bowties, made in council colours, were a gift from Cr Blenkhorn as a thank you to his fellow councillors for their support over his time at the top.
Councillors Brett Owen and Collin Ross were the only two not wearing their bowties as they were wearing shirts that would not match the ties – who would have thought councillors could be so fashion conscious?
Cr Blenkhorn confirmed last night he would not put his hand up as mayor for next year but already decided who he would vote for – but was tight-lipped on anything else.
A statutory meeting that will decide the mayor will be held on 5 December.
