Rain halts play at Pakenham

THE Pakenham Golf Club has once again seen rain interfere with its Club Championships with the first round of the 2011 chapter being called off at 12.30pm on Saturday.
All completed rounds will not be counted due to 28mm falling in just 10 hours.
The first round will now be played this Saturday 26 November with rounds two and three taking place on Saturday 3 and Saturday 10 December respectively. Tee times will remain the same for this week.
The same scenario presented itself last year with some competitive early morning scores not counting due to poor conditions.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:LADIES

Marg Andrews and Liz Garvey took the honours last Thursday with an impressive win in the Phil Munn Memorial Event.
The event doubled as first round of the 4BBB Challenge and an excellent field turned out in fine conditions. Andrews and Garvey scored 49 points to set themselves up nicely for round two this Thursday.
Six shots back in second place were Val Carroll and Toni Owen on 43 points with Merle Beasley and Dawn Van Roy came in third with 42 points. Sue Menzel and Sue King joined Joan Rawson and Pauline Tucker on 41 points to receive down the line balls. Nearest the pins went to Sue Menzel and Marg Andrews.
Tee off time for this Thursday is 8.30am. The following week is Hartball and teams of four need to be entered this week.
It was good to see 10 new ladies taking up the Give Golf a Go program. Professional tuition is on offer at very reasonable cost. The ladies committee welcomes these ladies with open arms.
Creeping up fast are the end of year events. Please get your names in for the Brett Ogle Trophy Day on the 8 December and Presentation Day on the 15th.
