POLICE have blamed a wayward rock, the size of a large orange, for a single car accident in Kooweerup last Wednesday.
It is believed a 30-year-old man lost control of his 4WD when he was struck by the large rock which fell from another vehicle.
Senior Constable Gemma Hamilton said witnesses said the rock had come from a green car with a trailer, hit the 4WD’s windscreen and caused the driver to lose control of his car and crash into a power pole.
The power pole then fell on the 4WD where the man lay trapped for more than an hour.
“At this stage we are not sure whether the rock or the power pole was what caused the head injuries to the driver,” Sen Cons Hamilton said.
She said police hoped anyone with information would contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The man was airlifted to hospital in a with head injuries.
