RAIN washed out play in the West Gippsland senior competition on Saturday but it was a different story for the juniors at Tooradin on Friday night. The Seagulls under-13s played host to Pakenham and it was an eventful evening for one young fella in particular, Tooradin’s Ned Harrison. He was well on top early in his innings and played a beautiful drive against the Lions’ attack before Darcy Jones got fair dinkum. The Lions’ bowler whipped in a short one that caught Harrison by surprise and although he managed to avoid being hit he skied the ball and stumbled to the ground, turning around just in time to see the ball being caught. It was a brave effort from young Ned who typifies the spirit shown around junior grounds every weekend by the stars of tomorrow. 74182 Pictures: Stewart Chambers
