THE attacker who fatally stabbed a Cockatoo man on Monday morning is still on the run from police.
Detectives are looking for a small white sedan which may have been in the area at the time and have released a FACE image of the man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.
Police believe the man is named Max and is described as between 30 and 40 years of age with a medium build, very short black hair and a tanned complexion.
He was last seen wearing a brown jacket and long pants.
Police were called to an aggravated burglary at a Caroline Avenue home at about 12.30am on Monday, but found a 38-year-old man had been stabbed to death.
According to media reports, homicide detective Graham Ross said the victim’s father discovered his son’s body after hearing an argument.
Sgt Ross also said it is believed the attacker was invited into the home and argued with the victim before stabbing him and fleeing the scene.
The incident has shaken the residents of the usually quiet Caroline Avenue.
Neighbour Graham Simpson said he didn’t know the victim or the other occupants of the house.
“They kept pretty much to themselves,” Mr Simpson said.
Jo Volk, has lived in Caroline Avenue for 13 years, and her children attend the Primary School just across the road from her home.
She said her family was in shock.
“I dread my kids finding out the truth, because I have got young children (and) it’s going to scare them silly,” Ms Volk said.
“I really feel for him (the father). I just hope they find (the attacker). There is nothing like losing a child.”
