FORMER Major League Baseballer and Emerald resident Justin Huber has been selected to represent Australia at the All-Star game to be held in Perth next Wednesday.
Huber, who has played five years in the MLB and currently plays with the Melbourne Aces, will join Berwick’s Scott Wearne and one other Melbourne player to represent team Australia.
Huber currently leads the Australian Baseball League with hits and despite playing All-Star games at every minor league level he says representing the green and gold remains important to him.
“It’s a great honour any time you get to play for your country,” Huber said.
“The showcase of talent is going to be fantastic.”
The match will be televised on pay TV.
