Snags sizzling on the sixth

IT WAS decision time prior to teeing off at Cardinia Beaconhills on Saturday with the 3-Club-Challenge fundraiser event testing everyone’s shot making abilities.
A barbecue on the sixth hole and some great prizes made for a fantastic atmosphere and it was Maurice Dowsett (11) who had the winning combination, scoring 39 points to triumph in A Grade. Brian Kingma (12) was runner-up with 37 points on a count back.
Arthur Bailey (15) won B Grade with 38 points on a count back from runner-up Graeme Inglefinger (14). John Makarucha (30) won C Grade with 39 points from runner up John Williamson (20) with 38 points.
Jason Worboys (18) won Sunday’s Stableford competition with an impressive 44 points.

David Moseley (12) won Tuesday’s Stableford competition with 40 points from runner-up Bill Graham (12) with 39 points on a count back.
The ladies played the Grandmother’s Trophy Stroke event on Wednesday with Mary Padman (28) being the trophy winner after returning a score of 95/67 nett on a count back. The non-Grandmother winner was Ann Felgate (11) with 81/66 nett.
A Grade Player Bob Corbett won Thursday’s Stroke competition amongst a field of 81 players; playing off a handicap on 9 he returned a score of 66 nett on a count back. Franz Eckhardt (21) won B Grade with 64 nett.
Cardinia Beaconhills Golf Links will be closed on Christmas Day.
