Day out for all the kids

A FUN-filled day for the children and a free pass for Cardinia Shire residents make this Saturday’s Kids’ Day Out at Pakenham Racing Club a date not to be missed.
Cardinia Shire Council sponsors the day for the community.
A free pass for two adults and their children is included in the centre pages of the current edition of Connect – the Cardinia Shire’s quarterly publication – which can be presented at the gate on race day.
Children are admitted free but they must be accompanied by an adult. “This is a super day for families with heaps of free children’s activities,” Pakenham Racing Club chief executive Michael Hodge said.
A bungee trampoline, jumping castle, Camp Australia games, face painting, an animal farm and plaster mould painting are just some of the free activities on offer.
“Bring a picnic lunch, a rug and snacks to eat and drink (no BYO alcohol) and enjoy the perfect chance for mums and dads to get together with friends, relax and unwind after a hectic festive season and continue the holiday fun for the children,” Mr Hodge said.
The Pakenham Telstra Store is sponsoring a colouring-in competition for children under 11, featuring an Xbox gaming console as the prize. To enter, the entry needs to be dropped into the Pakenham Telstra Store the week following the Kids’ Day Out raceday.
Details at Pakenham Racing Club on 5941 1207 or visit www.pakracing.com.au.
Cardinia Shire Council’s Kids’ Day Out race meeting will be held at Pakenham Racecourse, 61 Racecourse Road, Pakenham, on Saturday 7 January.
