Back with a vengeance

AFTER a few months off the Garfield Golf Club welcomed back Tony Elliott on Thursday and he wasted no time getting back into the swing of things by taking out the Stableford event.
The greatest thing about golf clubs is meeting people and looking forward to seeing them each week so when due to illness or injury a regular is not around it leaves a gap in a small club.
Elliott’s break obviously worked wonders as he came in with 40 points off his 16 handicap to defeat joint runners-up Ian Archer (7) and Harry Thomas (6, Yallourn GC) by a single stroke.
Down the line balls went to George Gray 38 with Mark Kelly, Trevor Franklin, Peter Lacey and Rick Schenk all scoring 37 points.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:SATURDAY

Craig Cousland (35) can kiss his handicap goodbye after the C Grade player came in with a whopping 49 points in Saturday’s Stableford event.
No-one came close to Cousland who won the overall prize by six shots in a clear display of dominance. Ian Hopper (14) was also in great touch winning A Grade with 43 points while John Blair (18) took out B Grade with an impressive 40 points.
Down the line balls went to D.Kerr 40, W.Poulter and C.Smith 38, D.Dineen, S.Szybkowski, R.Swift and B.Wadeson 37 with R.Calderara and N.Watson getting balls with 36 points on a count back.
Nearest the pins went to K.Pettiford (fourth), D.Raines (eighth), C.Nevin (ninth), N.Watson (11th), W.Low (14th) and D.Dineen on the 16th while the best second shot on the seventh went to S.Szybkowski.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:LEO FALLON EVENT

It was great to see long time members George and Gwen Vitiritti win the Leo Fallon event for the very first time since the event started back in 1971. They were both very excited and happy to accept the Trophy.
The Vitiritti’s came in with a nett 68 playing off an 18 handicap to win by just under a shot from runners-up Grant and Amanda McLure. Down the line balls went to S and B.Clark, G.Laity and J.Mitchell and G and V.Kelly.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:JUNIOR PENNANT
