AN excellent field of 134 players took to the Drouin Golf Club on Saturday for the Two-Person-Par-Aggregate Event, the Summer Cup.
The course looks in immaculate condition at the moment and the scores reflected the playing conditions.
The winners with an impressive combined score of +10 were the pairing of Jamie Coates (13) +6 and Peter Cannon (16) +4. Runners-up with +8 were John Paul Santo +4 and Gerard Bongiorno +4. Balls down the line went to Peter Browne and Ron Mace +5 with Dorian Mita and Steve Roberts, Eric Smart and Michael Cresp, Geoff Thomas and Gavin Feaver and Matt Long and Leon Cook all combining for scores of +4. Special mention must go to Steve Roberts for scoring +7 individually. Nearest the pins went to Steve Roberts (2nd), Simon Vigilante (5th pro-pin), Ray Haley (14th) and Max Henning on the 17th. Kaye Feaver won the ladies event on Saturday with +4 from runner-up Faye Downward on +3.

Mid-week golf is alive and well with 111 players competing in a Stableford Event on Wednesday. A Grade winner was Darryl Bryce (10) with 41 points from runner-up Peter Cannon on 40. B Grade winner was John Fusinato (22) with 43 points from runner-up Doug Scott on 40. C Grade winner Gerry Engelsted (31) had 40 points to win by a shot from runner-up Ian Hemphill on 39.
This Saturday is a Stableford Guest Day.
