PREPARATIONS for the Eastern District Fire Brigade Competition are in full swing with the Kooweerup and Narre Warren and other localbrigades battling it out on the weekend.
The annual competition will be held in Kooweerup on Saturday 28 January.
Twenty-five teams have entered the competition, which will bring thousands of people into the town.
Working bees and planning has been underway for months and the final touches are being completed for this weekend.
The competition starts at 9.30am on Saturday morning at the Kooweerup Recreation Reserve followed by a torchlight procession that night.
Sections of Station Street, Moody Street, Henry Street, Salmon Street and Gardiner Street will be closed to allow for the torchlight procession.
The Narre Warren brigade hosted the training day on the weekend at the Kooweerup track and won the grand aggregate.
