Fuller sets course record

RYAN Fuller set the Cardinia Beaconhills Golf Links alight on Saturday when he scorched around the course in a new amateur course record 65 in the second round of the Club Championships.
Fuller’s (0) magnificent round gives him an impressive two round total of 137 to lead David Coates (144) by seven shots with Brad Cowley (146) two shots further back in third place.
In B Grade it’s a much tighter affair with Ross Brown and Keith Robbins sharing the lead on a gross score of 169. Eight players are within five shots of the lead so it’s still anybody’s to win. Neil Vine has the C Grade title at his mercy leading by 11 shots to Glen James and 15 to Bill Sheehan.
All players will play the third round this week which will see the Nett, Veteran and Junior titles decided, then the top 12 players in each grade will play a fourth round the following week to decide the major winners.
Other scores on Saturday saw Peter Sierat (16) have the best score in B Grade with a 66 nett, while Ashley Cooper (20) got it done for the girls taking out C Grade with a 67 nett.
The Ladies also played their second round on Sunday with Laura Griffin still out in front with good rounds coming in from Lynn Hagg, Jenny Chandler and Mary Padman. Jann Wilson (9) won Sunday’s Stableford competition with a score of 42 points followed closely by runner-up Tony Radcliffe (15) with 41 points.
