THE benefit held for Pakenham Upper Toomuc Cricket Club stalwart John Baker last Sunday was met with overwhelming support from local residents and players, past and present.
Baker was hit by a car over last year’s Christmas period. As a result of the accident, he was placed in an induced coma and on life support at The Alfred hospital.
His road to recovery has been, and will continue to be, a slow and steady one. To help in that effort, Baker’s beloved Pakenham Upper Toomuc Cricket Club organised a ‘Yabbies Legends’ Twenty20 match, which saw some familiar faces return to the club in support of the great cause.
The club would like to thank everyone who helped make the day a special one for Baker and his partner Joanne, and wishes him a speedy recovery.
