Dawn of tradition

Pakenham RSL will hold its Dawn Service on Thursday 25 April.
This will again be held at the Pakenham Cenotaph which is located outside the public hall and libary complex on the corners of John and Henry streets, Pakenham.
The start time for the service is 6am sharp and will include the ceremoninal wreath laying and flag raising associated with the Anzac tradition.
This will be followed by breakfast.
If anyone wishes to lay a wreath on behalf of an organisation or on their own behalf please contact Gary Elliott on 0409 594 114 to have your name or organisation included in our list of donors during the ceremony.
Pakenham RSL is also looking to expand within the growing community and has a number of initiatives under review currently to assist with this process.
If you are a returned serviceman or woman from any theatre of operation or peace keeping force we would be most interested in hearing from you.
Similarly, if you would like to help out with our token and poppy selling times leading up to Anzac and Remembrance days, or to become an associate member to help out the organisation, we would love to hear from you.
We can be contacted by calling the above for an informal chat.
Gary Elliott,
President Pakenham RSL sub-branch.
