ON BEHALF of the Pakenham RSL sub-branch, I am writing to thank sincerely all of the people who came along to help out at the Dawn Service on Anzac Day, and the days leading up to the event.
Special thanks to the local Cardinia Shire Council, Pakenham Rotary, CWA, SES, Scouts and Guides for their work on the morning.
Thanks also to our token sellers from Legacy, CWA, Inner Wheel, Probus and many more.
Plus offers from other organsiations all of which were people willing to put in their time.
Just as importantly, I wish to thank all those people who came up to the various sellers and simply made donations to this worthwhile cause.
These funds are used by the RSL branches to assist in funding welfare issues for returned service and ex-service men and women from the defence forces of Australia.
I must say that we, the members of the Pakenham RSL, are extremely pleased with the outcomes achieved this year as I am sure many other members of the veteran community would be.
We had a very successful Dawn Service with a large crowd attending and our collections from token sales was again another record for this area, so thank you to those people who purchased and I hope you wore your Anzac token with pride.
Again, many thanks for the invaluable assistance and for the donations from the community and we look forward to continuing association and assistance in the future.
Any inquiries in relation to the Pakenham RSL can be made by contacting myself on 0409 594 115.
Gary Elliott,
President of the Pakenham RSL sub-branch.
