New day oncology centre brings hope

St John of God’s new specialist centre at 55 Kangan Drive, Berwick, is now open.
While the centre focuses on delivering cancer services, the new medical consulting suites will also have a range of medical specialists and consultants onsite.
St John of God’s Day Oncology Centre is situated on the first floor of the four level building.
It features large windows with spectacular views of Berwick and a Wellness Centre for the comfort of patients and visitors.
On opening, 12 chairs will be available for chemotherapy treatment with a capacity for 20 chairs as demand grows.
St John of God Berwick Hospital will continue to provide theatres for cancer surgery at Gibb Street, Berwick.
St John of God Berwick Hospital CEO Lisa Norman said: “The opening of our day oncology centre is something we are very proud of.
“Not only have we managed to accommodate all of the equipment and technology we need to provide exceptional care but we are able to offer it in such a beautiful environment that enables patients to focus on their wellbeing.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our capacity to enable us to treat more patients in our new Day Oncology Centre and offer them compassionate care in partnership with other services to deliver a comprehensive range of services.”
