Quiet market before Easter

The combined sale at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange, Warragul, last week prior to Easter saw only 137 head yarded.
Demand was firm on recent weeks, with only the lack of numbers for buyers to purchase holding any big prices back.

Cows made to a top of 188.6 cents; 57 heifers topped at 244.6 cents to average 226.6 cents; 13 steers sold to a top of 255 cents and averaged 218.1 cents, and 39 vealers made to 269.6 cents and the average was 222.6 cents.
