IN RELATION to your story (Hospital After Cyclist Clipped, Gazette, 27 May), footpaths are exactly that – designed to be used by people walking or running, not some expressway for cyclists.
And while I am on my soapbox, I think I should mention that, due to the poor design of the roundabout in Army Road, opposite the Gazette office, many people who are driving up Army Road fail to indicate when turning left into Falling Water Drive.
As a pedestrian, I was almost hit by such a driver.
Others indicate to turn right around the roundabout when continuing up Army Road, which is most disconcerting for drivers travelling in the opposite direction.
