Lucky fits the bill

By ANEEKA SIMONIS

THERE is no denying it – Lucky the bunny is quite a cutie.
Living in a warm, happy home in Pakenham, the tan long-eared rabbit is the well-loved pet of Jade Classy, 11, and her mum Julie Hill.
Julie bought the rabbit for her daughter only months ago after their much-loved dog and guinea pig passed away at the end of last year.
The Pakenham mum said Lucky was intended to fill a gap in their lives as much as that thought to be felt by their other bunny, Trickle, left devastated after the death of his furry mates.
It hasn’t quite worked out for Lucky and Trickle who spend most of their time apart, but both receiving loving care from their owners.
“Lucky is a gorgeous boy. He loves a cuddle,” Julie said.
“When we let him out of his hutch, he’s very fast. He jumps around all over the place.”
Lucky couldn’t put a paw wrong, according to Julie.
Though he has only been with the family for a short time, he has already made a huge impact on their family dynamic.
“I thought I lost him one day. We had some door knockers come and I thought he got out. I looked for about half an hour and found him curled up asleep in the TV cabinet,” Julie recalled.
