Mixed quality in a dearer market

THE usual buying group was present and competing in a dearer market.
Quality was mixed with a scattering of grain assisted trade cattle selling to a premium while the grass cattle, which mostly lacked finish, sold to strong feeder and re-stocker competition. Feeder cattle sold five cents to 15 cents dearer.
Heavy weight vealers to butcher orders gained 10 cents.
Yearling trade steers improved 10 cents while the heifers to the trade jumped 20 cents for most.
The grown steer draft was lacking weight again with most selling five cents to 10 cents dearer and up to 20 cents in paces.
Heavy weight vealers to butchers sold from 322 cents to 350 cents.
Yearling trade steers made between 316 cents and 345 cents.
Yearling heifers to the trade sold between 306 cents and 349 cents.
Feeder steers made from 290 cents to 336 cents with the heifer portion from 280 cents to 330 cents.
Grown steers sold from 302 cents to 336 cents.
Bullocks made between 309 cents and 328 cents for a limited selection.
A handful of heavy weight grown heifers reached a top of 295 cents.
Crossbred manufacturing steers reached 312 cents and were also in short supply.
