Quality down in firm market

There were approximately 125 cows and five bulls penned representing a decrease of 80 head week-on-week.
The usual buying group was present and operating in a mostly firm market.
Quality was very limited with only a handful of well finished heavy weights scattered throughout the small offering.
The handful of younger cows and heifers were a little softer with one less buyer operating on these types.
Cows and bulls recorded similar averages.
Most light and medium weight cows sold from 200 cents to 257 cents. Heavy weight cows made mostly between 222 cents and 272 cents.
Heavy weight bulls sold between 267 cents and 304 cents.
The next store sale is Thursday 20 April commencing at 10am.
There will be no sale on Tuesday 25 April due to Anzac Day.
The VLE draw for the week commencing Monday 24 April is: 1, Rodwells; 2, Landmark; 3, Elders; 4, Nathan Gibbon Livestock; 5, Alex Scott and Staff; 6, Everitt, Seeley and Bennetts; 7, SEJ.
