Vealers lead the way

A yarding of predominantly vealers last week with an increase in numbers saw vealers sell to a top of 336.2 cents at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange.
Vealer quality remained very good.
Twenty-nine heifers made to 290 cents and averaged 258.2 cents, 23 steers made to 300 cents and averaged 272.1 cents, 131 veal made to 336.2 cents and averaged 278.5 cents.
The Thursday bull and cow sale was back in numbers with 139 head, eight bulls penned due to the Melbourne Cup, cows averaged 207.8 cents, bulls sold to 275.2 cents with only eight bulls and an average of 251.4 cents.
