Countdown to the new aged care home in Officer

Cardinia Community Aged Care is a brand-new aged care home that will cater for Respite Care, Permanent Care, High Care and Dementia Care and will also welcome government funded residents.

With an open date scheduled for mid-November, the home will cater for up to 189 residents, well over 200 staff and will service the Cardinia region and surrounding areas.

All residents’ rooms are single rooms with their own private ensuite and have individually controlled air conditioning units for personal comfort, smart TVs and telephones.

A number of rooms have already been reserved from those seeking care for loved-ones and families looking to relocate a parent back to the area from other homes. We are also working through the numerous enquiries from the local community about employment opportunities.

Care will be provided 24/7 by a team of dedicated Registered Nurses and qualified care staff.

Residents will also be supported by a lifestyle team that will be focused on ensuring everyone has access to a range of activities and programs.

Purpose-built programs such as ‘planting with purpose’ will bring the surroundings into the home, enabling residents to tend to herbs, fruits and vegetables with the intention to later use in their very own working cookbook!

Focused programs such as these really promote choice and inclusion, and encourage activities that otherwise may not occur. Our founding residents can help us develop our programs to suit the interests of the community, ensuring that we have something on offer to suit everyone’s interest.

Residents have access to many wonderful services, all available within the home. There is a fully functioning café, chef-cooked meals prepared fresh in-house daily, hairdressing and beauty salon, movie theatre, piano lounge, private dining room for special occasions, a bowling green, outdoor gazebo’s with manicured gardens, a library and various activity rooms. To top it all off we have our very own playground to entertain our visiting children, and amuse our residents and families.

Initial enquiries can be made by calling 1300 1300 13 or please visit signaturecare.com.au for more information.
