Local choice

JB Rural Services has been busy preparing paddocks across the region — fertilising, spraying out weeds and sowing seed ahead of what is shaping up to be one of the most important spring growth periods in years.

With fodder reserves at record lows across the state and rainfall still below average, maximising feed production this season is critical for farmers and landholders alike.

Beyond traditional contract baling, JB Rural Services also works with landholders and developers who have excess grass that would otherwise be slashed for fire prevention. By turning this surplus into valuable feed, the team improves fire safety while boosting local fodder supplies — a win for everyone.

“Our focus is on working alongside our clients to give them the best chance of a successful harvest,” owner Jordan said. “Good planning and timing now will make all the difference when it comes to quality feed later.”

With the silage harvest now underway, JB Rural Services is taking bookings for silage and hay jobs across the district and looks forward to helping producers secure top-quality feed for the months ahead.

Backed by more than 100 years of family ties to agriculture and horticulture in the region, JB Rural Services has grown from the ground up to become a trusted name throughout the Casey and Cardinia shires. Their comprehensive services include hay, lucerne and silage sales; mowing, conditioning, raking, baling, wrapping and slashing; rural fencing; power harrowing; air seeding; spraying; and fertiliser spreading — all designed to help local landholders get the most from their paddocks year-round.

Join the growing number of locals who rely on JB Rural Services — the local choice.
